Labor unions are notoriously violent, corrupt and Mob-influenced so why do we tolerate them?

Union members are pandered to by a bunch of corupt politicians, much like the liberals are by the democratic party. They ease the minds of the membership, by giving them a false sense of security, in that they represent the working man. I have worked all my life, and never needed anyone to do my speaking for me.
