RRoD dude. Microsoft extended 360 warranties to 3 years for this specific problem. 1-800-4-MY-XBOX to get started. They'll send you a padded box and you send it to them, and you'll probably get a different machine back that works. Just send them the console, no cables, HDD or anything.
