Toyota Celica discontinued?

A few years ago they discontinued the production of Toyota Celica in USA. I wanted this car so bad. I never really knew why they discontinued it? Does anyone else know? someone told me that not a lot of people were buying them, i m pretty sure they had a better reason than that. I heard they still make them in Japan but I am not sure. Does anyone know where I can find a brochure for it in english? like the ones that they send you in the mail?
